Network and Desktop Support Engineer

ATUM is looking for a Network and Desktop support engineer. This role is a full time in office role. The desired candidate will have the following qualifications and responsibilities
Qualifications:
- 3-4 years in a hands on role supporting Windows desktop and Linux server environments.
- Experience in developing and implementing scripts using C#, Bash, etc.
- Experience working in the biotech industry is a plus.
- Excellent technical knowledge of windows desktop hardware and software
- Desktop hardware and system troubleshooting experience
- Working technical knowledge of current networking protocols, operating systems, and technology standards
- Good understanding and competency with common desktop and cloud applications, such as Office365, Google Workspace, Adobe, etc.
- Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail and customer-service orientation
- Self motivated and directed, able to effectively prioritize, track and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Enterprise network maintenance and troubleshooting experience is a plus.
- Experience with Unix/Linux server administration and maintenance in production environments is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for analyzing, developing and implementing desktop support solutions
- Provides end-user support in a Windows environment and day-to-day support for employee Desktop-computing issues
- Evaluates new desktop software technology and management tools and recommends solutions for deployment in the desktop environment
- Designs, builds, and deploys OS images, applications, and desktop environment modifications using packages and scripts
- Creates tests, deploys, and maintains packages, batch files, and scripts for system administration and lab automation.
- Creates backup images of critical computers’ hard drives and restores on new hard drives, when needed.
- Assesses the need for workstation upgrades and develops deployment strategy
- Sets up, configures and installs desktops and laptops for new hires.
- Installs and supports enterprise-wide applications such as: Windows, MS Office, chrome, and other required applications.
- Performs hardware replacements as equipment becomes defective or obsolete
- Maintains accurate PC, printer, software and LAN equipment inventory through inventory tracking software and vendor services
- Participates in the development and maintenance of IT processes and procedures
- Sets up conference room computers using multimedia equipment such as audio devices and projectors
- Takes ownership of tasks, projects, and relationships and follows through on obligations and promises
