ATUM is looking for a Systems and Network Administrator. This role is a full time in office role. The desired candidate will have the following qualifications and responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • System and Server Management: Administering and maintaining approximately 50+ Unix servers, ensuring optimal performance, security, and stability across physical and virtual environments.
  • Network Management: Configuring and maintaining all networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) across multiple sites and network segments; managing security and troubleshooting complex network issues.
  • Availability and Recovery: Implementing and managing enterprise backup and recovery solutions; developing and regularly testing Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans.
  • Security and Compliance: Enforcing security policies, managing network intrusion defenses, and performing regular vulnerability patching and assessments.
  • Infrastructure Improvement: Researching, recommending, and implementing new technologies to modernize the infrastructure, enhance automation, and prepare the environment for future growth.
  • Support and Documentation: Providing technical support for infrastructure issues and escalated desktop issues, and  maintaining comprehensive documentation for all systems and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Required Experience: Minimum 4-6 years of hands-on experience administering a production environment with a significant number of Linux servers and complex multi-segment networks.
  • Core Technical Knowledge: Strong proficiency in Linux servers administration, TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, firewalls, and server virtualization.  Hands on experience configuring and managing switches and VLANs.   
  • Critical Skills: Demonstrated experience managing enterprise-level services (e.g., directory services, DNS, DHCP) and implementing storage and backup solutions. Proficiency in scripting (Bash, python) and configuration management principles is required.
  • Problem-Solving: Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills to rapidly diagnose and resolve complex outages under pressure.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and strategic planning discussions.
  • Education and Certification: A bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent demonstrated work experience. Relevant professional certifications are highly desirable.
