Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Production Associate I to join our Gene Synthesis team. This role involves working collaboratively within a structured production environment, applying basic scientific and technical knowledge to execute lab protocols and meet production goals. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, work effectively in a team, and demonstrate strong communication skills while adhering to established procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Production Workflow Execution

  • Independently execute laboratory protocols in plasmid purification and shipping production processes.
  • Operate laboratory instruments, including liquid handlers, vacuum pumps, centrifuges, and incubators.
  • Carry out production tasks within established procedures under supervision.
  • Analyze data from production steps to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Meet production deliverable deadlines consistently and efficiently.

Experimentation & Troubleshooting

  • Perform minimal troubleshooting and escalate more complex issues as needed.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Communicate effectively with manager, co-workers, and cross-functional colleagues to ensure alignment on production goals.
  • Participate actively in team discussions, exchanging ideas and information to improve workflows.
  • Ask questions and verify understanding of processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Teamwork & Environment

  • Perform lab housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of the production team, supporting colleagues and contributing to team goals.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Requires basic knowledge in the principles/concepts of a scientific discipline (Biology, Chemistry, or Bioengineering).

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with managers, team members, and colleagues.
  • Capable of working in a structured environment under direction from a supervisor.
